What Signet is

Signet is a signing ledger. It lets a person take named responsibility for a document by recording a signature — who signed, when, which file (by cryptographic fingerprint), and under which declaration — in an append-only, hash-chained ledger. Signet exists because AI can produce work but cannot take responsibility for it; a named human signature restores the chain of accountability inside a company and toward its counterparties.

What a signature means

By applying a signature in Signet, the signer affirms the declaration text shown at the time of signing. Declarations are records of professional attestation made by the signer in their own name. The legal effect of a signature depends on the laws of your jurisdiction and on your company's internal policies; Signet provides the record, not legal advice.

The ledger is permanent

Records are append-only by design. Signatures, role changes, baselines, and projects cannot be edited or deleted — by users, by companies, or by Signet itself. Corrections are made by adding new records. Do not sign documents you have not reviewed.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of your declarations, for using your own identity, and for keeping access to your company email secure. Companies are responsible for their own role assignments and declared baselines. Signet is provided as-is during its pilot phase, without warranty; the service may evolve, but recorded ledger entries will not be altered.
